Jay Jay has joined Cub Scouts and one minute after Kindergarten lets out he will officially be a Tiger Cub. This will take place on June 16th at 10:46am.

Oh, I almost forgot Jay Jay also made orange belt in Karate the end of May. Way to go Jay Jay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy 70th Birthday to my dad, aka: grandpa, Ted, FIL. We had a wonderful semi-surprise party for my dad’s 70th birthday. I want to thank everyone who came especially Uncle Dick, Aunt Gail and Lori. It was nice of you to drive up and it was great to see you.
I also want to thank Aunt Marie, Earl, Dennis and Donna we could not have done it without you. We also want to wish Timmy a Happy 4th Birthday. Both Birthday boys had a great day and a good time and a huge cake. I made a three tiered cake in Toy Story 3 colors for Timmy because my dad said he didn’t want to celebrate his birthday and that we should just focus on Timmy so that is how we were able to pull off the surprise part.
Jay and I made the lettering on the cake out of chocolate, I made the stars and Jay attached them to the wire spirals because I did not have the patients for it. I frosted the cakes and the top layer was a bit rough the middle layer looked better and by the time I reached the bottom I had it figured out. Just a thought… I figured out that I am not the professional cake decorator I would like to be!!!

WOW....two Blog postings in 4 days!!!!!!

WOW....two Blog postings in 4 days!!!!!! Jay Jay is in the headlines this time.

He lost his first baby tooth on Sunday May 2, 2010. Although we were very excited and told everyone we could that day he did not share this feeling. He freaked out and cried and fussed because there was blood and his tooth fell out. We tried real hard to not laugh so everytime he started back up one would comfort him and the other would leave the room to go laugh.

Several times we reminded him that his tooth falling out was a great thing because now the tooth fairy would come but he still didn't like his tooth falling out. Today is May 3, 2010 and well...the tooth falling out is a better thing because the tooth fairy came and brought him money. He likes money. He was even wishing that Timmy's teeth would fall out too, although I'm not sure why. Maybe he was hoping to get Timmy's money too.

P.S. We haven't told him that rest are going to fall out also, we'll let that be a surprise.
If you notice the Tooth Fairy Pillow. I bought that when I was pregnant with Jay Jay and have been waiting SIX AND A HALF YEARS to use it.
I Love Mother's Day.

Catch Up

Okay, so I've been really lazy lately but now it's update time again. Timmy had his dental surgery on the 16th of February and it went really well but was very expensive for us. Insurance did not cover much, so for those of you out there with small kids make sure they go to the dentist every six months and get those teeth checked. In our case he has gone every six months since he was born and the dentist told us there is no one reason for the enamel to not form properly. He also said that all the brushing in the world would not have prevented this and because we caught it early enough and that by sealing his teeth we have hopefully prevented any future damage.

March started off with Jay Jay making Yellow belt in Karate. Great job Jay Jay.

For Spring break we went to Seattle and spent time at my mom and dad's. Jay Jay went to his first Lego club meeting at the Lego store in Bellevue Square mall and he loved it. They introduced the new Lego games, first you build them then you play them and that is what he lives for right now. So far we have Pirates Code and Monster 4. Pirates Code is a lot like Master Mind from the 80's. You make your code in your treasure box and the other players have to guess what it is turn by turn. Monster 4 is a lot like Tic-Tac-Toe except that you get to bump other players off with a big black spider or if you roll a multi-color side of the dice.
Next comes April and Jay Jay's second report card!!! He is doing very well in school and is above average in several of the testing categories. However, he does not like to color and needs improvement there and he doesn't really like homework either but does it because he likes to get his pizza coupon at the end of each month. He has homework almost every night and Mrs. Partridge sends home extra homework two nights a week. Wow, has Kindergarten changed or what????
We dyed Easter eggs and that was an experience...
Timmy dropped his in the cup of dye and it went everywhere and so we all laughed what else do you do...after all it's Timmy.
The Easter bunny was good to everyone and brought lots of fun things and some candy too. Easter was fun, we had it here in Seaside and my mom and dad came down here because Jay Jay had school the day after and I did not want him to miss any school if he did not have to. He likes it and I hope it stays that way. Plus the Easter Egg Hunt at Church was awesome.

Jay Jay went to the dentist and did extremely well this time. He let them take x-rays and use the suction tube and the Fluoride. This is a huge improvement from all the other visits so we are very proud of him. He also performed in the all school assembly and sang the Parts of Plants and hung up the stem to the plant they were making.
In other news, Timmy had a day at Pre-School to see how he would like it and did pretty good. His favorite parts were outside time and art, he also liked putting the puzzles together
Jay Jay also went to his second Lego Club meeting in Seattle. This time the theme was Disney's Prince of Persia, the sands of time. They put the kids in groups and gave them a bin of Legos and told them they had to help Prince Dastan find the hidden sword and their buildings had to have trap doors and other things. It was quite interesting what some of the kids came up with.

It's update time again and you guessed it... Timmy's making headlines one more time in his short little life!!! He had a dental appointment just before Christmas and that's when they gave us the bad news...the enamel on some of his teeth is not forming correctly. The dentist said he has three cavities, one is large (it looks like a cave and is located on the back side of his second molar) one is medium in size and the third one is small. We went to see a pediatric dentist in Vancouver Wa. on February 4th and on February 16th we go back and they are going to sedate him and give him laughing gas, do a baby root canal to see how bad the damage is and if the tooth is even still alive. If they get in there and find that it is dead or even close then they will do an extraction of the tooth fill the other two and then seal the teeth that do not have enough enamel on them.
I bet the insurance company sees " Timothy Brock" on the paper work and go oh no not him again. The dentist said there really is no one reason for the enamel to not form properly on his teeth but it could be due to high fevers (which he does get) a medication he has taken or even genetics could play a part. I asked if he has juice or milk mouth and he said no infact this is just the opposite, and all the brushing in the world could not have prevented it either. So the good news is that we did nothing wrong.

On a much happier note... Jay Jay started Karate two weeks ago and he loves it. He has already earned a green stripe for his belt for knowing his first set of moves and he also earned a blue pencil that night for listening and going through the balance course faster ( in 7 seconds) than all the other kids. He also earned a goldish colored pencil for avoiding and not getting hit by the little paper stars they throw. Yeah, Jay Jay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jay is doing well and is in physical therapy for his foot. No cast, no boot, no crutches...just his regular shoes. He is still sore and stiff in the mornings and sometimes when he has been on his feet all day but that is what physical therapy is supposed to help.

Thanksgiving was fun and invoved Jay Jay getting a trophy at the 5th annual Turkey Trot. This is a one mile race that his school does and he was the youngest kid to run a mile and he did it in 14 min and 36 sec. It took me longer. I volunteered to help and cheer the kids on but the coach decided that because he was so young that I should run with him...let's just say Jay Jay crossed the finish line five minutes before I did.

Christmas was spent in Seattle and so was New Years then it was home to Seaside and back to school. Other than Timmy there has been nothing else exciting to report on.
